Hey, thearizmendiz, thanks for the post: my company helped pay for the pylon sign on the Minutemen to get out!

Some of the posts answering are too funny. If a pro amnesty posts something, you call it a "rag" == if your underwhelming mouthpiece Sealr says it, it's valid!! She uses more vulgarities than a redneck's bar. No wonder, you are such a joke! Vote Republican and let's keep NAFTA and all the programs rolling! Yea! The shelf life of the Minutemen is November 2006, right up there with your favorite Sheriff!

Anti-immigrants? The minutemen are anti-illegal immigration.

Hate? violence? YOu mean like when an illegal attacked one of them
by the way I'm not going to a propaganda site. I've already seen enough of them.

I wouldnt' be surprised that if some minutemen are racist. But the majority have already said they like diversity and want immigrants. They just don't want illegals that pose a threat to our soverignity, national security, and our economy into the country.

"Nope! What happened to "Give me your poor, downtrodden..." Seems we are quickly forgetting what America is all about. As we move deeper into aristocracy, we are loosing our democracy."

Riight. these are illegal immigrants who come here to leach off of our welfare system. The REAL immigrants from Mexico are hard workers and I know personally ones that are ashamed at the illegals-- since they are making them look bad.

The US takes the poor and downtrodden. But never did it say "send all third world ILLEGALs [hint hint] into the country"

Do you realize if we took all Illegals from Africa, China, and South america that this owuld become a third world country?

That is such utter tripe. "An innocent middle aged bystander, most likely a grandmother who likely disembarked from a city bus and had nothing to do with the demonstration....."

Wow, they sure do know a lot about someone they know nothing about....and the rest is equally ludicrous.

I live not too far from there. According to mainstream news, there were about 200 minutemen and supporters who had a permit and a group of counter protesters who were trying to cut into their march. The police pulled the counterprotesters away when they physically refused to honor the lines set by police.

Clearly your 'news source' has a different angle, an angle I think is fairly clear when they refer to the LAPD as 'migrant hunters.'

Isn't this anti Illegals thing getting out of hand?
Lets just pass a law that says ILLEGALS can only be paid one dollar below minimum wage. No more, no less. Then every american, even those living on welfare would be able to afford a slave of their own.
I only say this, because, by allowing ILLEGALS to work here, without being citizens, then we are only enabling the business owners to employ slaves.
Revamping the immigration laws, and forcing all who come here to be compliant with our laws is the only way to ensure that they are being treated fairly and equally with other citizens.
Anything else will only lead to abuse. If we want immigrants here, which we do, then it is our responsibility to ensure that they are treated fairly. TO not take the responsibility for the proper treatment of our guests, is totally un American and a disgrace.

The notoriety of the Los Angeles Police Department is well and alive on Planet California. While I am on the side of the law, I have to wonder how the anti-illegals would have reacted if all things were reversed, and they were the police abused ones?

Thank God, real America is still who's in charge. I find it hard to believe this forum nor Sheriff Arpaio, speaks for me or all my sphere of influence. I will always have an open mind, and it's ok if you call me a Liberal.

Am I proud of this? No, nor am I ashamed as you imply we should be. Let's take your points one by one:

Anti-Immigrants: The minutemen profess to be anti - ILLEGAL - immigrant. One could argue quite easily that it is the illegal immigrants that are anti-immigrant. Tens of thousands of lawful immigrant hopefuls wait on lists to enter this country lawfully but the illegal immigrant feels that he (or she) should go first.

Violence: In Los Angeles, 95% of all outstanding felony arrest warrants for homicide are for illegal immigrants. (City Journal Winter 2004) Over seventy percent of the violent 20,000 member 18th Street Gang is illegal (2005 California Dept of Justice Study). There are 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders (re: rapists, sexual homicides, child molestation) who have perpetrated one million (or an average of just over four cases each) sex crimes (2006 report by the Violent Crimes Institute in Atlanta).

Hatred and inequality: La Raza means, The Race. First let us imagine what would happen if white people had an organization calling itself "The Race" Furthermore, imagine if those same organized white peoples motto was: "For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada" . Allow me to translate: For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing. Value love and equality? So who is La Raza? They are, amongst other things, the number one supporter - number one mind you... of Indy media. Who is Indy Media you ask? They are the people responsible for the link you gave us showing, I am sure, a totally unbiased version of what happened.

I am proud of the fact our police force is doing it's job (finally!), although you apparently would have it be different.
This conflict that you write about, wouldn't be occuring if the "authorities" of our country had done their jobs in the first place and not allowed illegal people to come into our country, against our immigration and naturalization laws.
Now that they are doing their jobs, you complain about it. What's a cop to do? Maybe they ARE beating the old ladies because they are frustrated with not knowing what to do about a bunch of rioting citizens (or illegals).
I suspect, however, the old ladies may have done something, like being in the middle of a highly charged, violent demonstration, to arouse the focus of the police.
Hey Abuela! Why are you in the middle of a political riot? Just here by accident, huh?
More than likely, they were striking/hitting or inciting and thought they could get away with it cuz they were grandma's. It's not right to break the law here in the USA; unlike in "other" countries.
The rather slanted perspective of the info you tout on the website is clearly in favor of those "other than" the Minute Men organization. Also, if you look carefully at the highly select/prejudicial photos that are on that site, you can see these "very tan", virile looking young mean with masks on their faces. Kinda like "Banditos" (isn't that the Spanish word for bandits. theives, bad guys?) I think they were called in the old West.
What are those masks all about? They must be bad guys afraid for anyone to know who they are cuz of what they are doing or planning on doing. Doesn't seem on the up and up to me. Maybe the cops felt like that too? I'm very grateful the police are there protecting our society from folks that wear masks like that. Aren't you?
I guess that says a lot. Seems like all the legal protestors are open faced, unabashedly representing and asserting their right to protest and live in freedom, free from the repression of those who would hide behind masks in public, break our laws and ravage our economies, and then attempt to deny us the right to protest about it.
It's over for you people. Illegals folks go home to your other countries and wear your bandanas there. Those of you who are here legally, learn to appreciate your freedoms and the proper way to conduct yourself in a civilized, law abiding society.
Do this and make plans to stay out of harms way and you won't have problems. Tell that to las abuelas activas too.

I am very proud of the minutemen, they have a right to protest just like the illegal immigrants, but the illegal criminals will not let them, they have no right to try and stop them, this is our country not theirs, No you are wrong this is what the illegal criminal represents, hatred, disrespect of our country, our laws and rights as citizens, the illegal are trying to take our rights of protest away. They need to go to their own f**king country and protest and get the hell out of ours, the gull of then trying to take away our rights to protest, they are the ones that are causing more hatred, not the minutemen.

I know Sheriff Joe is going to win. Read the stats. I find it horrifying that kids are brought to protests by pro illegal supporters. I cant' imagine with the passion people have on both sides of an issue, some ppl are willing to risk their kids life. Keep the kids home. Protest in America is good. Have respect for both sides of the issue. No one threw bottles at your old ppl don't do it to the opposition. That is how to win, not throwing a big ole tantrum at someones opposing view.
