I've been doing squats about 4-6 times a week but it seems as if my butt is just getting more rounder, is that normal? Is there any way to slim it down, besides the 25-35 minutes of cardio that I do with the squats?

You might be developing the muscles there, also know as gluteus maximus.

Okay exercise must be tempered with diet as well if your doing squats and your butts getting bigger, than maybe your eating more than your burning. Another possiblity is that your working the wrong sets of muscles too hard, do some research on what will build lean muscle as opposed to "macho man" muscle, also drink around a gallon of water a day, i know its a lot but it flushes your system so that your body can break down the protein you eat instead of turning it into more butt fat. GOOD LUCK. Its tough i know!

Your butt is a muscle just like any other muscle. Muscles can only do three things, get smaller, get bigger or stay the same. If you are doing squats with weights, then you will lose the fat around your butt, while the butt muscle actually gets bigger. One way to get the butt smaller, is to do cardio only, no weight training.

your butt muscles called gluteals or "gluts" are hip extensors. By your doing squats your building muscle in your butt making it bigger but firmer. You may consider doing less squats or "mini" squats which are basically let's say 1/2 a squat. If you ever look at the butt of a professional dancer or even body builder you can see how that happens.

Your growing muscles are making it appear that way -- but keep it up! Eventually all the muscle will melt the unwanted fat away...and you'll have the tight AND round butt of your dreams LOL.

You're probably building muscle and toning up your butt. It's probably less jiggly now which is good. Big booties rule! Just be glad you don't have a flat square butt.

could it be the water buffalo that you're ingesting after each workout?...
eh, sorry... lack of self-control...
seriously, though, along with exercise, proper nutrition is prerequisite in weight control. but then, you are watching the diet, yes?
another important thing to keep in mind: when working out to build muscle mass, use heavy weights. when working out to tone muscle, use low to no weights, but with high number of reps.
perhaps you're using too much weights?
do you have proper form?
lunges, done with proper form, should be effective in toning the buttock area, as well.

If you are using weights while doing your squats, reduce the weight and the number of reps.
