I understand that religion may imply that you have to observe some days and make some rituals, but even without those acts, the simple fact that you believe in something supernatural it makes people religious regardless of the fact that they avoid to be labeled. On the other hand, I read that mindless people call atheist or agnostics still believers, therefore they want to label everyone on the Earth as belonging to a religion... Can you bring some clarity in this?

Okay, so here's the deal.
In my opinion, in order to be "religious", you have to have a religion. Religious kind of implies being an active part and a firm believer of some specific religions.
People who are agnostic don't believe that you can know whether or not there is a good, and that this knowledge is therefore irrelevent to life (you shouldn't worry about God because you don't know whether he exists anyway).
People who are atheists believe that there is no God.
Most people who believe in a God but are not religious say "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual". That was, like, one of the major cliches of the 90's, but an accurate description of some people.

I am a Christian with no religious affiliation. I feel the Bible should be observed not rites etc. The words of Jesus are very important to me. I can not bring myself to follow a religious affiliation due to the man made rules that apply. I love my Lord with all of my heart, soul, and mind but not religion. This may be for me but not for everyone. I choose to study the Word at my own pace with the help of the Holy Spirit. A religion is just a way of categorizing people with an affiliation. Atheists agree to no religion so they are categorized as nonreligious thus having a religion.

I think the best clarity is what you got from the previous person the very definition should give you enough clarity to see over the Himalayas
also a intelligent person would have to believe
in substantial biblical related evidence compiled over the time in which suspect religion was created

Atheists are not religious. By definition, if you believe in a supernatural entity similar to the concept of "god", then you have religious beliefs. Religious people like to label atheists as religious because we have beliefs also, which is really dumb in my opinion. Personally, I think they do it just to try to annoy the atheists, that's my best guess. But anyone with a dictionary can clearly see that atheists are about as non-religious as you can get.

Depends on people's definition of religion and religious.

If religion = ritual and ceremony; then I am not religious.

If religion = daily reliationship with the God of the universe, then I am religious.

If atheism = believing in a higher power (an unknown atheistic process) that created our entire universe and us, then atheism = religious.

If religious = ceremony and ritual, then atheism is not = religious.

Cordially,
John

Absolutely. I am a christian and many christian will tell you that christianity is not a religion, but a daily growing relationship with God.

Yes, there are some things we need to abide. Why? Because God set it for our own good. If we disobey, we reap the consequences.

Religion is boring. A growing relationship is exciting, it is like an adventure.

i think that you can believe in a God and still not be religious. i like feel that person maintains a level of spirituality. just because a person chooses to affiliate with a certain belief and acknowledge certain "religious" days doesn't make them a christian either. i feel that each person has their own definition of spirituality. if i one chooses to believe in a God yet chooses not to , for instance, attend church i don't think that can keep them out of heaven if that is what they choose. being spiritual to me means having whatever type of relationship with your own beliefs and personally honoring those. no one knows what happens after we pass away so why bother arguing semantics. live right (be kind, generous, and forgiving) and let the cards fall where they may.

For me religion is all I do and how I treat people and how the actions I take on a daily basis make me feel at the end of that day and that's when I think of god . God is essentially all I believe and my religion is my inner-self.

Of course you can. Believing in God is a choice, a personal expression of faith. Being religious is taking part in an organized
group that prays to or follows a god. Believing in your God, and not taking part in someone's religion is okay.

John 17:3 this means everlasting life taking in knowledge of you the only true God. and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ. Read the bible a lot of false religion out there.
