It will help to make it more stable. But the real problem is they have a very tight
turning radius. If you turn sharp at high speed your going to roll. Reduce the turning radius, add wider tires and lower the center of gravity.

I have a 98 explorer and I find if I have to take the curves much slower than other cars. I would think that having wider tires would give you greater stability and traction since there is more rubber on the road. I find it easier to drive when I am hauling couple hundred of extra pounds but it eats into the gas.

Roll over ? Technically yes but we are talking 1 - 2 % You will do better to get a higher ply or load rating. They are stiffer and will not give as much in the turns.Wider do not get as good gas milage as narrow.
