YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! The test is gibberish...literally...and it's pretty hard. But I passed!!!!! Yippee! And it's a really good job. They're offering good bonuses for that career field right now. You just have to make sure you don't have much in regards to the criminal history b/c you have to have a really high security clearance. Good luck to ya!!!!!!!

As a linguist you will learn a second language and act as an interpreter interfacing with the indigenous people at your assigned location. Sounds like a very good job to me.

I am a linguist of the English language. I have studied words, their origin and meanings. Often times through this study though I have learned that words can sometimes have double meanings and can be twisted to mean other things. Hmmmm. I wonder if that makes me a cunning linguist?

YES!! once you get out of the military you will have SO mnay doors opened up including FBI, CIA, homeland security... depending i suppose on what language... spanish obviously would not be as good as knowing arabic, so keep that in mind. and i would not listen to some of these people and join for the money because you just will not make a TON of money in the military without being a pretty high-ranking officer or hazardous duty pay etc..

A linquist in any branch is a "good job." Starting with the training in San Diego. Not bad.
