e.g. "Their spirit knows what their mind denies" or some such nonsense. I suppose the logical next question is "What would it take to convince them that we really, honestly don't believe in their imaginary friends?"

Because atheists challenge the very notion of faith and it scares them, so in order for the theist to validate his blindness, he claims his faith to be superior to knowledge and that he knows the atheists' minds better, therefore making him the smarter.

You don't have to. We're completely convinced that you really, honestly don't believe in imaginary friends.

And this is exactly what we're talking about. It's perfectly understandable that your finite brain does not comprehend God. My finite brain doesn't comprehend subatomic physics. I haven't spent alot of time training it in that field.

If I DID spend time training my brain in subatomic physics, I could probably get it. Just like you could come to a better understanding of God if you'd just spend some time really, honestly trying to understand Him.

But this has little to do with your eternal spirit. Aside from the physical and chemical reality of your brain, you do have the spark of life inside you. I imagine that you're vaguely aware of your spirit, you just might not know what to call it. You might think it's simply more chemicals. Yet if you've expored at all, you'll find that there's no way that the science of physiology can explain it.

This eternal spirit recognizes it's origin: God. This is what initiates the desire in each of us to search for Truth. This is what makes you wonder, "Why are we here?"

I respect your question as you didn't refer to all but some and that is cool - no one should judge what is in anothers mind and by assuming you do then your casting a judgment and to me that is wrong. I respect Atheists in the sense you are strong in what you believe however I do not refer to your believe as imaginary or stupid or many other things I have seen, To you this may be true but to those that believe it is offensive. It's all about respect will gain respect in return and when you feel the need to disrespect others beliefs it only makes you appear rude. I'm not saying this to upset you or to change your mind I think everyone deserves a bit of respect, even when you do not believe in what others do believe in.

They have been reading the little propaganda booklets that street preachers and such handout with borrowings of cod pychology from the 1920's that they have assimilated into the religio-speak they now seem to use. Even the Vatican quotes early 20th century psychology now when it can't find a suitable theological basis for it's irrational arguments...they weave them in in a meaningless way that they seem to think adds credibility to what they are saying ...it's all tosh!

They are attempting to psych us out!

He gives you courage and strength through His love just like your own father would do but far Greater! Everyone has been atheist at one point in their life or another...everyone has to learn to know God

Read up on religious cults such as the moonies. They use fast-talking pseduo-psychological gibberish to lure people into their cults. It's constant use is intended to break down resistance to indoctrination to the cult.

Because athiests do not have a "proper" mind and they are just confused little children.

They need a firm guiding hand (from a religionist) to put them on the path of truth and righteousness.

In asking your question Christians can see yet another example of how atheists think. Nothing like giving away too much information.
