I also have very dry hair. I highlight it every 3 months and i find that the best way to keep my hair looking healthy and shiny is to take as much care of it as i do my skin. I use JOHN FRIEDA products and my hair is now silky and shiny. There is a variety of different products for different hair types. I also like his new line of Beach Blonde Products that help rehydrate hair. I swear by JOHN FRIEDA "KELP HELP" DEEP CONDITIONING MASQUE. Also avoid excess blow drying and try and only wash your hair once every 2 days.

For dry hair, try not to wash your hair everyday becuase it strips away hairs natural oils. Use AVON Advanced Techniques Straight and Sleek shamopoo and conditioner, it's got creatine and silicone to give your hair high shine and smoothness. Then use the Ultra Smoothing Balm for a smoother, silkier looking and feeling hair. Make sure you don't use too much heat on your hair if blowdrying use medium heat and then polish the hair with a ceramic flat iron.

1. Only use shampoo on your hair once or twice a week. Condition every day. On days you aren't shampooing, massage your scalp with the conditioner and rinse well, but don't worry, it won't get gross. Just very hydrated.
2. Use a gloss. Pantene makes one special for your hair color, it's new. Use that every day after conditioning. It's AMAZING.
3. If you have curly hair, use Aveda Be Curly mixed withFructris gel. Don't touch it while it dries. If you have straight hair, use the same gel and use a straightener to make it sleek.
4. End with glossing product.

If you go to your hairstylist you can ask him/her what you can do about it, or you can use a shampoo that makes your hair silky, I think you get it from salons, it is called like Sexy Silky hair, or something, and if you want to put product on your hair you can use lots and lots of gel, and lots and lots of hairspray, that is what i used to do, but i don't recommend you using it every single day because then your hair could get wrecked.

Here is a home remedy regimen for dry hair:
GENTLE CLEANSER:
1. Beat an egg in a cup of skimmed milk. When the foam becomes consistent, rub it into the scalp. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water. Carry out this routine twice a week.
2. Take a cup of coconut milk and add two tablespoons of gram flour or one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply on your scalp and hair and massage gently. Rinse it out after five minutes. Follow this recipe at least once a week.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
PROTIEN CONDITIONER:
Beat one tablespoon of castor oil, one tablespoon of glycerin, a teaspoon of cider vinegar and a teaspoon of protein, plus a tablespoon of mild herbal shampoo. Apply it on scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with clear water.
----------------------------------------------------------------
MASSAGE OIL:
Get a bottle of castor oil or coconut oil. Add a teaspoon of lavender essential oil in it. Heat a little and massage it gently in your scalp at night. Rinse or shampoo it out in the morning. Follow this routine at least twice a week.

try silk it is made by chi and you can buy it on-line or at most hairstylists. it softens and protects from heat (like irons and dryers) it also controls the fly-aways or frizz associated with dry hair.
