Girls

I can understand completely where you are coming from. I am from a big family of girls, and I dreamed of having a boy, (as I find male company better) which I did and I loved it. The next time I fell pregnant, I really just assumed I would have another boy, never even thought about having a girl, oops......when my daughter was born, I was in shock to say the least and wondered in silence how I was going to cope with this. That was 7 years ago, and she is fantastic, I wouldn't swop her for all the money in the world, I love her to bits, she is a little mini me, I love spending time with her. I look back on my life and to be honest I am truly grateful I had one of each as, they are both special in their own ways and the experience was totally different. Good Luck Hun X

Actually I can't stand girls and all the girly stuff that goes along with girly girls. I have three younger brothers, all my friends are guys even my dogs are male. So you can imagine my shock when I delivered my daughter and the Dr said "ITS A GIRL" I have to say that baby girls are much mellower and easy. I have been around my cousins two boys every day of there lives since they were born and they are maniacs (good kids but they always got to be doing something). Now my daughter is two she plays with the boys, has been riding dirt bikes for a year, never cries when she gets hurt, doesn't mind being dirty, but she like for me to paint her toenails, put lip gloss on, and where pretty dresses. She has been an absolute joy. Go for the girl you''ll be pleasantly surprised.

Which is better boys or girls?

Boys are great. And you have first hand knowledge, how do you know that when you have a girl or adopt one and get to know her and bond with her you won't think girls are great too? She'll probably want to hang out with you and your son too, and she'll probably be a "Tomb Raider" chic as opposed to a Barbie girl chic, I know, I'm a Tomb Raider chick and my husband enjoys this because I help him when he goes up on the roof to fix the a/c or I help him mow the grass etc. I enjoy bowling too. Girly girls are that way because their parents made them that way.

boys are easier to raise then girls just because boys/men are simple and girls are more complex.
I think I would enjoy raising a girl more even though it wouldn't be easier

Which girl do you think a high school boy would go for?

I've got two boys and two girls. Love all four of them. Boys are great, but so are girls. I've got one girly girl - loves her Barbies, wears dresses but she's also the bravest child I've yet to come across. Plays football, swims, sails her yacht etc etc. - while my son, well, let's say, he's my baby. They're all individuals and their sex isn't important. It's who they are.

Why would you bring your child up to do 'girly talk'.

I find it astonishing any parent would say 'I cannot do with girls' - you take what you get and be lucky for it. Many people would love to have a child at all, or a dead child back.

My girlfriend has a son, and he's great. We get to do "boy stuff" like play with toy cars, chase each other like lunatics, and play rough. One of her friends has a girl a couple of years younger, and I find it hard to relate to her, because...well...as a guy, what am I supposed to do? The most I do is play the silly "copying words" game she likes playing with me. Where she says a word, and I say it and she normally runs off giggling. I guess guys find it harder to do "girl stuff"
