If you are wanting to meet a "really nice genuine woman" for romance then it will just happen. I don't think you can contrive situations.
I think if you have particular hobbies that you would like your potential partner to share, then try finding more opportunities to go to social events that involve them.
Personally, I think you can share with your friends (and their female partners who are usually more helpful) that you are looking for a partner. That way, you are made more aware of situations to at least get talking to other women that are recommended!

be a really nice genuine man yourself.
for example, a guy who wants to have sex will go to a bar to drink and hope to meet up with some girls.
a girl who wants to have sex might also go to a bar to have a drink and also meet up with some guys.
therefore, if these two meet, then, they are both of the same "feather"
BUT, there are of course some exceptions to this.
another example, a guy who loves to read books might go to the library to hang out and read instead of checking out girls elsewhere. same thing with a girl who would love to read. therefore, who would you probably meet in the library? a person who loves to read or a party-person? right? :)
there are lots of really nice genuine woman out there. don't lose hope.

I, being the shy type, have always favored singles clubs and organizations. You write up an ad, and women answer it. There are lots of really sweet, sincere women out there, but when you're looking, it sure seems like they're always so hard to find.
