I was involved in a auto accident in the state of Florida,i live in Georgia about a 6.5 hour trip.Other driver was ticketed for fleeing scene of accident.driving on suspended license and no proof of insurance.The vehicle wasnt registered in his name but it was to his girlfriend he was living with.Im hearing conflicting stories if she has insurance or not.
My question is this do i have to have my vehicle repaired in the state of florida where accident occured.The vehicle wasnt driveable and had to be towed to a wrecker service.Im in Georgia now and only want it repaired local in case there are any issues with the work that possibly needs to be done to it.Again im 6.5 hours away.Any help would be appreciated

Your insurance company will pay for damages to your car (minus the deductable). You can take it where ever you want.

If you want your deductable back, you will have to sue the other party for it.

Legally, you have the option to have your vehicle repaired at the shop of your choice no matter what state it's in.
