If you are really interested in a career in medicine you should speak with a college admissions counsler or your school career advisor. It is often not a simple as one answer depending on state liscensure requirments, specialities and different colleges have different curriculums.

Basically speaking a medical liscense requires the following commitment:

BS sci - 4 years (generally bio. or chem.)
MD 4-6 years
Hospital Internship last 2 of MD
Hospital Residency 2 year minimum
Specialties 2-4 post grad (optional)

Summation: A medical liscense takes at least 9 years.

In the U.S., typically:

4 years college
4 years medical school
3 years emergency medicine residency

high school + college + medical school + residency = usually about 15 years, unless you are either very smart or very stupid.
