I got a very, very small whitish and somewhat reddish sore on my tongue. It hurts like crazy - especially if I eat something. What is it exactly and what can I do to get rid of it? The thing I'm talking about is a very small bump on the tip of the tongue.

This sore is so tiny and only subsides on the tip of my tongue. I'm a clean freak, and I didn't use my tongue for other purposes, just eating and drinking where it gets in touch with. This is the first time I have this annoying little sore though.

Realistically you probably just have an inflammed papillae, which are a normal part of tongue anatomy although sometimes they hurt when you eat certaiin foods that may be very acidic or that you may unknowingly be allergic to. It's funny how most ppl that answer health questions always think the worse...lol. You may want to do some research for papillae on the web and see if this sounds like what may be the problem. Have a good day and hope this helps!

Sounds like a canker sore aka an aphthous ulcer! They go away on their own in a few days. Otherwise, put some Ambesol on it to numb it down so you can eat.

it's a ulcer. Called herpes simplex 1 but not necessarily herpes just in the bacteria family. You can use some cank - aid or other type of canker - ulcer medicine in the form of drops and it will go away in a few days. Other wise gargle in warm salt water a few times a day and it will go away in about a week.

Sounds like a canker sore. Drink tea and then put the tea bag right on the sore- it'll dry it up and make it feel better.

I call it a pimple. It's really an irritated taste bud.
The best way to get rid of it is to brush your teeth more often, and rinse your bump with hydrogen peroxide or mouth wash. If you use peroxide, DON'T SWALLOW IT. Rinse it out with water.
