If you really love them both, they would know about each other. Monogamy is great, as far as making babies and creating a family is concerned, but in reality we as people are not geared towards it. You also have to ask yourself if you would feel comfortable with them loving other men. If the answer is no, then you can not ethically ask that of them. I think that people have a convoluted idea of what love is. Love is more than an emotion, it is the struggle to commit yourself to someone else. Monogamy is not necessary for that, unless the person you are committed too says it is. Read a Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, and remember that jealousy is one of the (if not the) most negative of all human emotions. Hope that helps.

That is just plain wrong. You are greedy. Deep down you know it, that's why your question is posed as a negative answer...'why can't I'.

You substanciate your answer with them knowing of eachother, this further shows that YOU YOURSELF know that it IS in fact...wrong.

If you love someone with all of your heart, then you would want them to have a love of their OWN, not always knowing in the back of their mind that no, they dont. Also, no matter what strong face someone puts on, sharing a person with someone else is HORRIBLY damaging to one's self-esteem. Because one, they aren't being strong enough to end it and find someone for them and them alone. Two, they will always wonder why they aren't 'enough'. and Three..who the f*ck do you think you are? Jerk.

Are you talking about polyamory? I personally have nothing against it, even though the vast majority of society looks down on it. But if they know about each other and they are fine with having a polyamorous thing going more power to you all.

Good luck with that...
Polygamy didn't work out too well for Abraham, or for Jacob, or for David, to name a few. You can read about their difficulties in the Bible.
Probably the most spectacular example is Solomon. His passion for the ladies destroyed him, destroyed his faith, and destroyed the Kingdom of Israel. With all of his wisdom, he didn't have enough sense to leave the women alone.

You answered the question yourself....you cannot love more than one person with all your heart....because loving more than one, by definition, would mean NEITHER could have your whole heart.

If you claim to love more than one person, you really love no one but yourself.

You need to grow up before you are in any relationships with other people.

Mommy to seven already got it right. All of it means just that. You can love a grip of people but that special spot only has room for 1

i suppose you can .... guess you need to be a bit more clear.
I love my hubby with all my heart, I love my daughter with all my heart, and I love my son with all my heart ... and, yes, they all know about each other.
Of course I can't leave out family members!

With relationships, you could love more than one person with all your heart with the other knowing about the other. here in Utah it's called polygamy

who said you can't? I love each member of my family with all my heart, and I love my friends with all my heart. It would be a sad world if we only had one person to love.
