The rough formula for calculating how many calories you should consume, you take your weight 245, add 100, then subtract about 300-400 for daily activities and subtract another 500 that you have to make up in exercise.
So for you, it should be 2450 cals - 400 - 500 = approximately 1550 per day.
You have to do about 500 cals worth of exercise a day.

There are 3600 cals in a pound. So if you exercise 500 cals worth each day, it'll take you 1 week to lose a pound.

The first week or two, you'll lose about 5-10 pounds in water weight, but don't let that fool you.. it's not the fat.

This is just an estimate.. a guess.. because you are so young, you have to talk to a doctor before you start any kind of a diet, but he will tell you, without doubt to cut the crap (i.e. soda, ice cream, candy, cereals like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, etc.)

A craving lasts only about 2 minutes. Drink water when you get a craving.. walk out the door.. do something, anything, just don't give in. It'll pay off in the long run, trust me.

Losing that much weight in that little time is not really a good idea. The secret to weight loss is simple - burn more calories than you take in. Losing 5-8 pounds a month is a good target. Most diets try to limit the amount you take in. Since you are still young, you burn a lot of calories. Focus on the choices of food you make. Do NOT drink soda. This is a big source of empty calories. That, and more than 1 soda per day is not really good for your bones. If you really like soda, switch to diet. Don't eat too much candy. Eat less than 1/2 you are now. And slowly go to no candy or very little candy per day. Also, you should limit the amount of red meat you eat, and increase the amount of fruits and vegetables (try to get the 5 servings/day, cause I know you probably are not right now). Don't need to take Vitamins, since you probably get enough in your diet. But calcium supplements wouldn't hurt. Just remember, you did not gain 45 pounds in 2 months, don't try to take it off that quick either. Good luck

Okay. Gaining weight is easier than losing it. ou need to focus less on losing weight and more on changing your relationship to food.

First off, eat no more than 1500 calories a day. Thats going to mean not eating ANYTHING that is not labelled with the caloric value, period. You have to take control of your mouth.

You can bring microwavable food to school, lean cuisines are good. Anything that will elt you control HOW MANY calories are going inside you.

Drink water. No juice, no milk, no soda. Take a mutlivitamin, just a simple multivitamin, maybe another vitamin for calcium.

Then start fast walking.

Now listen closely,

1)You do not eat if youre bored.

2) Do not eat only because other people are eating.

3) You can talk andhave fun withyour friends without eating.

4) NO SODA NO JUICE NO MILK

5) When you're done to about 200, time to start excerising.

6) GET TO YOUR DOCTOR, tell him you're determined to get down to your ideal weight and he will help you.

7) YOU CAN DO IT.

Ideally I think everyone should have a 2000 calories per day diet. I recommend that you cut all the excess sugar such as all the sweets and soda out of your diet or reduce it drastically. Eat meals that are 2/3rds fresh vegetable or fruits or even a combination, and reduce your starch and protein intake. And of course exercise! Do this by going to a gym and tell the instructor you intend to loose weight and he/she will know what kind of exercise for you to do and for how long. As for your cravings...I suggest you eat a salad or fresh fruits- avoid mango, if you don't want to do that then buy fat free croutons. These have like 20 calories per serving and the good thing is you only have to eat about two handfuls before you feel extremely full! You should consider refusing high calorie foods such as shrimps, pasta, fried foods etc. You asked about vitamins- how about Centrum they are the best. If you don't want that then I suggest "Geritol" it's a complete high potency multi-vitamin and multi-mineral dietary supplement personally it's my favorite. I urge you- please do this gradually you don't want to give your body a diet shock, and stick to your new diet. For further information tell your parents to consult a dietitian.

You have to do this sensibly after all I doubt that you gained 45 lbs. in two months. It took you 14 years to get to your current weight of 245 lbs.

You are setting yourself up for a lot of health problems as an adult.

You have to change the way you eat and live.

Eat normal size portions of balanced meals.

Reduce sugar and starches (Carbohydrate) intake and high fat foods

Exercise even if only walking or bike riding, building up distance or length gradually.

If you happen to miss exercise on one day do not give up the next day get right back into your exercise regimen the next day, any exercise is better than no exercise.

Snacks can be healthy snacks, Fruit, any leafy green vegetables or celery.

If it is worth doing it is worth doing right. living is worth doing right!

Good luck!

Remember do not diet, live it!
