Clearwater Beach, Florida one year in December. The pictures and description on the Internet of the hotel seemed to be a dream come true, and the price.....what a bargain! What a bargain indeed...less than clean, a box spring and mattress that fell through the frame, and a housekeeper/ manager, nuisance, we ended up calling 'Bucky' because of her front teeth. The weather was cold....we all had shorts and t-shirts, it rained every day, and the flight home was delayed in Atlanta for over 10 hours due to weather. Naturally it was late at night, and the airport bars and stores were closed. Finally made it back to Pennsylvania with no sleep, and a major snow storm required a snail's pace drive for 100 miles. Naturally the snow blower didn't work, so the driveway
had to be shoveled by hand......did I vent enough?

I think that vacationing in tourist spots really suck because of all the people who are there that in essence I go on vacation to avoid. I have travelled quite alot over the past 20 years and have been to upwards of 30 major cities in 20 different countries.

In this time I have always enjoyed myself even when there has been rotten weather, too much booze, getting kicked out of the hostel, temporarily losing my passport and too many freaks!

But I can say that the most hellish times are those whe you are ill while on the road. It really sucks to be sick. And once when my wife was ill in Thailan I had to get her to the hospital because she had some kind of stomache illness that dehydrated her. It was nasty but she was fine in a few days.

A great exotic place becomes hell very quickly. I know of worse stories though but they are not my own.

Montana as a rule is good but Columbia Falls Montana seems inbred. They all have the same to much time in the hot tub look. Ask a question you get a blank stare. If you mention unpayed child support there's a mad rush to the door. In the middle of all this inbreeding is a bed and breakfast. Quaint little place but the town is still depressing.

There is no such thing.
Any vacation you take should be great, choose the right people to go with, the places you want to see.
Well , I guess if you get mugged or so and the airline loses your luggage for good,or your mate gets eaten by a Lion,or you fall down a cliff,or you get food poisoning,or a really terrible rash.....
Hasn't happened to me.lol

The one to Myrtle Beach, SC where I got arrested outside a nightclub for Public Intox because I said the "F" word aloud in public. Apparently Myrtle Beach is a "family destination" even at 3 A.M. I spent the night in jail, and had to pay $150 to get out or spend 3 days in jail. Funniest part, only funny part for that matter, when I told them I would need to call my friend at the condo for cash, they told me they take credit cards, debit cards, checks, money orders, travelers checks........lol

Miami beach.

First of all we get there the parking lot says $10.00 they Cuban working says $20.00 I say the sign says $10.00 he then went and took the sign down .So we left found one run by Americans a block closer to the beach for $5.00.
We get to the beach and it smells like dead people there was trash every where and we couldn't take off our shoes for fear of stepping on a needle.
There was bums every where one was even washing his manhood in a foot shower for all to see and i mean washing it.
Did I mention the smell of death?
Anyways we stayed all of 5 min.and left.
I will never go to Miami again.
