You should study the pattern of your period and mark on the calendar the days that you ovulate. Then, on those days try. Then, if that doesn't work, tell the doctor to get your husband's sperm and ask him to do it if your husband didn't succeed. If that doesn't work, make sure that it's even possible for you to conceive. Other than that, one of those plans should work.

There is a product called "maybe baby" which can tell you when you are most fertile and can help you choose the sex of your baby through saliva samples. Look into it.
