and how long does it take for them to go away?

My face doesn't do this.

Chances are you are having a rush of blood to your face from the stress of vomiting. Unless you have some broken capillaries, your face should return to normal in a few minutes, or if you have a fever, once your fever breaks.

I don't know about you but my face does NOT get purple. I get little reddish-brown speckles near my eye area but I think it's just tiny blood vessels that popped from all the pressure. It goes away within a day or two for me.

because when you are throwing up you are pressing on your vagal nerve. When this happens you cut the oxygen supply off to your head and other organs. It is possable to throw up so hard that you feel as if you are going to pass out. This is why some people have a head ache after that.
