are there any jobs where someone can earn a living helping children out without having a college degree?

i recently lost my job so i want to go into something i like doing.
i love helping disadvantaged, disabled, overweight, or helping babies out.
are there any jobs out there like that. i want to make it a career not just volunteer.

Working in child care (a day care center) does not require a degree unless the center is accredited but it is a low paying profession. You must love kids enough to do all that is required with such low pay. That is what I do and I love it but I financially struggle too.

There are many positions at facilities that care for kids that do not need a degree to obtain. All of these type facilities use Nurses Aides or Technicians.This is a good way to find out if you can do this type of work. If you do indeed like it there are three shifts of work so you can go to school days. It is a lot of work to get your degree or license this way but it can be done. I know - I did it.

You might check with child daycare centers or your local school districts. Schools need playground supervisors, classroom assistants etc. You might need some training, maybe a certification depending on where you live, but you don't need a college degree. You can get training at a lot of community colleges where tuition is inexpensive or free; talk to their financial aid office.
