Points to think about when choosing a style for thick hair
* Thick hair works either really short, where the cut keeps it under control, or long enough that the weight of your hair holds it down. Mid lengths tend to result in sticking out hair.
* Layers or thinning works well to relieve some of the bulk, but the shorter layers or pieces should not be too short, or they can provide added volume instead which is not what you need.
* When thinking of a style change with colour bear in mind that permanent colours and bleaches leave the hair slightly swollen and therefore thicker. It maybe better for you to use semi-permanent colours that don't have the same effect.
* Curl or wave again adds bulk or thickness so go for styles that are worn straight if your natural hair texture allows.
* When colouring your hair go for high or low lights rather than all over colour. Solid hues make your hair look like a wig, different coloured pieces break the hair up and soften the solidness. Lighter colours also make the hair look thinner, where dark tones add density.

I have lots of thick, curly hair but all i wear is a ponytail or messy bun. I tried straightening it chemically but it didn't have too much of an affect. now i straighten it with Maxiglide.I think it works better than all the flat irons i've tried before but i still can't help it when it gets wet or if the weather is humid. There are a lot of straightening, frizz control, relaxing, etc. serums out there you could try. I'm just lazy and don't bother with all the blowdrying.

use a paddle brush when straightening along with a frizz control moose and only use a detangling comb or a real wide toothed comb..never use a brush because it keeps the static there fore leaving your hair dry and frizzy...when you wash it dont use too much conditioner either as that makes it too soft and unmanageable.....i have naturally curly thick hair and its a nightmare all this worked for me although i dont straighten mine....if you wear it down on a night out or sumthing then put wella freeze spray on it...works wonders...!!! xxx

A great product to use is Silk therapy. I was a hair stylist for many years and it will give you loads of shine and soften your hair to make it more managable. It is also great great for dry skin and helps hold your tan. However you only need to use a little bit at a time and work it through your hair evenly. You can only find this product in salons. It is worth the cost.

stay remote from layers if u have been given em improve em out,a sturdy hair stylist could use a slider it wont harm hair if blades sharp!make useful they depart backside layer and suitable and purely skinny out ends in the event that they depart suitable it is going to fall over mid component to hair so no longer sense to skinny.sturdy success.
