Vanilla Coke was discontinued because it was not received as well as Coca-Cola and it was frequently associated as tasting like cream soda mixed with Coke. Coca-Cola introduced Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke in North America in January 2006. They might bring Vanilla Coke back soon.

In 2004 Vanilla Coke sales was down by about 1/3 that it was when it first started selling in 2002. Coca-Cola has marketed the product in about 30 countries, but so far have only phased it out in North America and the United Kingdom, so technically they haven't entirely stopped making Vanilila Coke.

Right now, North American consumers are demanding Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, not plain old Vanilla Coke, but Coca-Cola does say that if the demand comes back they will reintroduce it to the market.

I miss it too. I started drinking vanilla pepsi, and I've never liked pepsi. Cherry Vanilla Coke is gross. I guess I should write Coke and tell them I want it back.
