I always end up throwing away my celery when I use just a few stalks for a recipie becuase it goes bad. If I slice it up and store it in a storage freezer bag, will it defrost and still be good when I need to use it?

Celery is one that does not freeze well. To keep celery fresher longer keep submerged in water while in the fridge. If you don't want to cut them into snack size lengths just chop off the ends and use a plastic pitcher with a lid, fill with water and put the celery stalks in.

No but you can slice it and store in water in the fridge. If you change the water every 3-4 days it will stay crispy fresh for about a month. We do this at the Veterans club and it works great.

no, the water content on them when frozen, basically ruins the vegetable, when you thaw them out, you'll end up with a very soft, almost mushy..not really delish....try storing them in damp newspapers...but only for a few days, better yet eat them fresh.

i suppose you can freeze it to use later in soup stock, but celery is one of those things i prefer fresh.
