I think so, modern technology is slowly destroying our children. Children (of all ages) mimic what they see so internet access and video games should be limited to what's suitable for their age group. My kids were only allowed to use the internet to research school projects and video games were restricted to "rainy day" activity only, and then they were 'allowed' an hour at a time on the machine. Otherwise, they were outside playing tag, hide and seek or road hockey, riding their bikes or exploring the woods. Turning off electronics and opening the door kicking their butts outside keeps them fit and healthy. Besides, if you let your kid stay inside on the computer or in front of the tv, they'll get fat and become anti-social and may never leave home....who wants that?

Generations move on, the kids you are refering to have internet, video games, etc and it's probably not going to change. I'm sure when you were a kid, someone might have said something like this at a parents night out or something of that sort--- about phones. And even further back, about cars, or about electric lights. The world moves on as it was meant to, good or bad, cannot be helped.

It is good that kids have these things now, they are more open to advanced and complex learning this way.

I think that there are pros and cons to any technology. Now that we have video games and such, our children are spending less time outside. They're getting more overweight, and less social. On the other side, I've read that kids today have better hand/eye coordination from playing games. Kids have research at their fingertips through the internet. I think that us parents need to limit the amount of times kids are in these activities and promote friendships and playtime.

Yes, kids now do not have any imagination what so ever! My 13 year old never plays outside, always on the computer or playing video games....unreal and disappointing.
