i'm babysitting my brother and he has a red rash on his back, neck, and stomach. I think it's chicken pox because he had a fever for the past few days....he got the chicken pox shot when he was a baby, but the doctors say that you can still get it but not as bad as without the shot...do you think he has chicken pox????

i don't think he has the chicken pox because if you get it once as a child, your body builds an immunity to it even if he never got the shot. Also does he have the red spots which usually come with the chicken pox? but no matter what he should go the doctor

Chicken pox is entirely possible, but rashes can mean all kinds of things in kids, many of which it is VERY important to have treated by a doctor. Best bet is to have it checked out by his pediatrician, better to be safe than sorry. And the sooner the better - if it's something that needs to be treated, it's usually best to catch it as early as possible.

It could be chicken pox especially if he has had a fever.

sounds like German measles to me ... call the doc anyway.

If it's more of a rash than "bumps" ... it's probably not chicken pox.

A rash could mean so many diffrent things.Heat rash, allergies to foods,detergents...however on that note take him to the docotor to ease your mind,if it is serious he will nty get better by asking us this question.Good Luck!
