Seriously, if it does belong to God, he needs to come back down here and sort it out. What kind of irresponsible landlord allows their tennents to do what we've done to the earth?
At the end of the day, the question is irrelevent. Whether it belongs to God or not and whether we are guided by the invisable hand of God or not, we don't know consciously what God wants us to do. We have no coherrent divine guidence on what should be done. Therefore, we are left to make up our own minds and act according to our own wills and morality. Because we don't know what God's masterplan may or may not be, the moral responsibility for the decision lies with us because we have to make the choice. God doesn't activily tell us, so we have to act according to what we believe is best.
