Do you know of any online classes from an accredited university that would meet this requirement?

The CPA exam should tell you what sort of accreditation is needed. There are different levels and different kinds. The state gives accreditation as do national organizations.

You can take online courses with a law school, a paralegal school, or a correspondence school, but it is up to your home state's licensing requirements as to whether a particular program is acceptable. I would find a number of schools first, then check with the state licensing board. Your best bet is to take a course that is designed for CPA students, although your work may necessitate taking more law classes if you are unraveling a lot of estates for instance.

I think the easiest (and cheapest) route to go would be to take a Business Law class designed for business majors, not law majors at a brick and mortar college. That's what I did, and it worked out fine. Those online universities aren't exactly bargain basement. They're quite a bit more costly than a regular college. Actually, I learned most of what I needed for the law section of the exam during the Becker review course. So, given that, I would say take the 3 credit hour business law class and go to a great CPA review program. It's expensive, but it's worth it. The money is better invested in a good review program than paying for the convenience of going to school online. By the way, I passed all four sections the first time, so the review was worth every dime!

You should take a real course.
