Mitigating factors attribute to our demise. My grandfathers died from a heart attack and prostate cancer respectively. They were only in their seventies too. I accept when I reach their age I may succumb to either of these, as it runs in my family.
To know why she died you'd have to know her family background.
Our genegic make-up is inherited, along with any flaws. Some people biologically age slower than others, even if they were born in the same year. Lifestyle also affects longevity.
Sad as it seems, sometimes we just stop without any reason.

These bodies are not meant to last forever, my Dear....we all start to die when we're born. You die "naturally", it's because something failed that was expected to fail. The part wore out, just like on a car. Depending on how you take care of your body when you're young will determine how "old age" will treat you when you're older. Don't worry about it. Think positive and learn to live for today!

Basicly as you get older the body stops working proply, its like a machine, and as the parts get old they dont work as well as new parts, so something can be replaced with new parts to keep the body going, ie transplants, but you cant keep doing that as the skin and brain age as well.
Now why we age is another matter

Well it has to do with the number of blood cells in your body, for people who die of old age it is because there body can no longer produce anymore blood cells and/or there body is to old to properly function and there for gives out do to years of break down.

there are a lot of things that add in to this. sometimes, muscles can just wear out due to atrophy because the person didnt continue exercising in to old age. a big cause is due to gene mutation. i'll try to mak this short and simple...
genes replicate when cells divide, and there are these special proteins that check this pprocess out and correct mistakes made (there a billions of bases to check, some mistakes are made, but all are corrected). over time, freeradicals, oxygen toms with a charged state attack thes eproteins and make them lose their efficiency and therefore these proteins miss correcting the mistakes in the DNA replication. over time, these mistakes add up , and add up, so you may start with say 12 mistakes but that quickly ads up to 1200. cells begin losing their power and functioning ability. there are high concentratios of free radicals in the brain, which explain why mental problems (neurodegeneration) are common among he elderly. but yea, basically, through this mutation , overtime, it screws up the cells' abilities and leads to our kicking of the can!

Anything can happen. When you get older and you aren't in your best health (like a cold, or you just don't eat right or exercise), your organs just stop functioning.

It's just a saying when someone was old, and in general poor health, without a specific illness or disease or an accident. Could be multiple organ failure or a stroke or anything.

I think it as something to do with the fact of cell rejuvination just aint what it used to be when you are young.
When you young your body can heal and repair itself far quicker than if you are old.
that is one of the reasons

The parts break down, like the heart, and all our bad habits catch up to us then. That's how.
