I know this answer for sure.
People worshiped Sun for the longest. The worshiping of Sun God goes back more than 5000 years in Indian History and with the Mayans and the Incas.
The worshiping of God again started in India and spread to other parts of the world - mainly Europe (ancient Greece) much later. The concept of God Hit America only after the European invasions.

According to very extensive research the sun has been worshiped longer. However-- in time it became a physical representation of the Sun God (Check ancient Egyptian history) and got himself a wife (also ancient Egyptian history) and then later on when people felt a need to develop a new religion the primitive form of Christianity was born. It has evolved over the years. For example- Latin is not the first language of choice for many Christian religions but it used to be. This is all I can back up with written documentation. The rest is called mythology and fiction based in fact.

Evidence for ritual burial dates back at least 100,000 years, which suggests some type of religious thought. All of the earliest forms of worship were directed at different aspects of nature. The sun, moon and planets were the most obvious natural icons for reverence of nature, so it is reasonable to suspect that worship of celestial objects was first evident several tens of thousands of years ago. Cave art dating back over 20,000 years contains petroglyphs which are interepreted to represent the sun and the moon, so it is reasonable to presume that worship of those icons pre-dated their depiction.
About 40% of the respondents provided answers which suggest that their knowledge-base is pretty much the same as when those petroglyphs were being created. The willful, abyssmal ignorance that is sustained under the influence of Christianity is a national disgrace.
By the way... the 'halo' that is often depicted around the head of Jesus, saints and angels, represents the 'solar' diety. It is an 'artifact' of sun god worship.

It depends on which lord you are referring to. If any of the current main religions, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, then the sun has been worshiped longer, as it was the original object of worship, and these religions have not been around very long in comparison.

By "lord" I presume you mean the historical figure popularly known as Jesus Christ. If so, he's been around for about 2000 years...so how long has the Sun been around? And people are still worshipping the Sun. So you do the math..and please note this logical line of thinking here. It should help others to learn how to think this way when confronted with so many emotional and ignorant ideas.

Well, in a way this is a trick question, because in many cases the sun was believed to be the chief god among gods. But it would have been the sun; Judaism didn't come about for a while, and then only in the Middle East

The question is meaningless. Worshipers of the sun considered it to be the lord.
