Yeeeeeees ;)

Fortunately for me, being open-minded, doesn't preclude being decisive; rather, it gives me the ability to continually evaluate my goals/objectives and methods/means.

[RE: People] Without an open mind, growth is impossible.

I have found that people typically use the term open-minded to browbeat those that hold firmly to a different viewpoint. In effect the term itself is closed minded as regards people who have their mind made up.
I first noticed this many tears ago when a person of the "alternative lifestyle", said that I was closed minded for my stand that this was erroneous. He in fact was closed minded because his "open mind" would not accept my so called closed mind.

The whole open minded argument is so regularly abused, that we really need to look at from the perspective I stated earlier.
A made up mind, based on looking at the parameters of the subject is not a bad thing.
A closed mind is one that has not considered and carefully weighed all the factors so as to have a made up mind.
So stop mis-using this term people.

Hope this makes sense to you.

I try to remain open minded and at the same time firm in my convictions and belief's.
Open minded in remembering that I don't know what a person has went through in their life that has made them the way they are. I don't know their level of education nor their mindset.
I just know that while we are all different we all want basically the same things out of life.
Love, Respect and understanding.

Sometimes being "open-minded" is not good. There are evils in this world that people should be careful about letting into their minds.

Yes, I believe that I try to consider everyone's point of view. However, that does not mean I am weakminded or do not know my own mind on certain issues.

No, I think I have too many clearly defined opinions to be what is conventionally termed "open-minded"... I do, however, consider myself respectful and considerate, and I think that's what counts.

Somewhat. I will research and evaluate information regarding many things, however once I commit to something, it would have to take something drastic to make me change my mind. I guess you could say I'm a bit tenacious.
