The PRC is now issuing a "Green Card" (yep, that's what it's called) to foreign residents living in China.

A holder of this so called "green card" or permanent resident status card is legally entitled to live permanently in China and therefore does not need a Visa to re-enter the PRC.

IF, however, you mean the holder of an American Green Card or Permanent Residence Card who wishes to visit China, then the answer is Yes..unless they are originally a citizen of the PRC.

It depends on which country you're citizen of. Green card won't help you - you'll need a visa, unless you're from a country whose citizens do not need a visa.

Green card opens borders on Canada and Mexico for you. I believe, Switzerland used to accept green card holders too, but not anymore.

if you're from the united states, i know that you have to get a visa if you're getting a chinese visa. why? that answer isn't in my hands. ^_^;

if you are from U.S to China, you don't need a Visa.
