I stayed on it for about 5 days and by that time I found it painful to move around and that's when I could actually be bothered to move at all. Also after coming off it my weight ballooned.

Yes that is very normal. what that diet does is take all the starches out of your body.this forces your body to take energy from other sources. like fat and also muscle and stuff that will result in u being tired. eventually if u keep with this you will lose waight but u will feel horrible. tired and lazy.
a diet that u should try is just changing your eating habits. when u go to a fast food restruant order a salad instead of a big mac. every day do a little bit of walking. so the 1st week do what u can if it is only 15 or20 min thats fine. Do it. u cant be embarased. the next week do a little more. soon build your self up to a mile or more. Try this before you exaust yourself with the ceazy diet that u are using. exersize might be more woork but u will apreaciate it much more.
Good luck

Not normal if you are taking supplements. Check with your doctor. Could be low on potassium and this can be dangerous.
I suggest multivitamin supplement with additional vitamins. B, for energy, C, for anti free radicals and oxygenation as well as helping to build the immune system, E, for heart health, and Calcium(with D and Magnesium) for bones teeth etc. Vitamins B & C are water soluble. Which means they must be replaced daily. They are lost through the bodies normal evaporation processes.
Good luck on the Atkins. I did it several years ago. Took of 35 pounds and have kept it off ever since. The key to rapid weight loss with this diet is to exercise daily. I reccomend a brisk one mile a day for the first week, 2 miles a day for the second week. 3 miles a day thereafter. Three miles a day is about an hour's walk. It works. Congrats on taking a stand toward better health!!

You're not on a very good diet, honey. You might lose some weight quickly, but you will gain it back and then some. Your best choice of diet should include fruits and veggies. Try something like the "Sugarbusters" diet and lay off of Atkins (he is dead by the way).

Atkins is too low on carbs when it is not how much carbs you eat but what kind of food the carbs come from as explained on site below. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic). You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Plus click on "Pure Water" to make sure the water you drink doesn't hurt you. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

I think, never do anything that makes you feel bad, because your organism is a bit wiser than you, and if you feel bad, that means you body's trying to tell you not to do that thing that makes you feel bad.
You do the atkins diet, I guess you'd like to loose some weight. There's a lot of ways to do that, and you could surely find one that won't make you feel bad. (exercise! exercise! that can also make you feel exhausted, but that's very-very different.)

You will feel drained of energy on most diets if you suddenly deprive your body of its 'expected ' food intake. Remember if you are putting less fuel in you will get less performance out
