if she hits him first he should be able to defend himself the law is so messed up my brothers gf was hitting on him when he finally slapped her back HE not her got arrested the legal system sucks ***

I was hit by my husband several times, he thought a good smack in the mouth would change the way i felt about him lol, especially when he tried to strangle me in front of our 3 children, all i ever did was fall out of love with the him cause he was a control freak, i was a good wife and never deserved any of it, he was eventually put into remand to keep away from me and when sentenced he got 50 hours community service and a slap on the wrist and a £300 fine ( which he never paid to me) and all cause he pleaded guilty. My kids still have flashbacks of it all, my answer to your question is no its never ok !

I once went to sa shelter for battered husbands,whilst doing training for social work;boy it was an eye opener,a man too proud to even defend himself can end up in an awful mess,so it goes both way's-I know that's not what you meant,wife bearer's should be shot,especially if their are kid's in the home mentally scarred by it-but in some cultures it's regarded as a sign of love !!!! So in all unless your there you can't judge-all violence in the home is wrong.ktf.x

No. Even in the worst of arguments or moments of frustration, neither should resort to violence. Also hitting at a time of argument or high emotion is liable to be nasty, fuelled by strong emotions and adrenalin. Where does it stop? Would one hit be enough?
The answer is don't do it. Best not throw things either.

I believe if the woman wants to fight like a man, let em go at it. Some men take quite a beating and the woman always gets off. I feel this way and I'm a woman.

Yes, if she's trying to kill or seriously injure him. It happens. Otherwise, since when is assault good?
If she's been assaulting him without serious intent to injure (a far more common event than most people know or care to admit), then he might consider divorcing the abusive woman.
Naturally, this also applies the other way around.

No and it's not right for a woman to hit a man either . You should treat people how you want to be treated.

YES! In self-defense. If I was about to be attacked by my wife, I would defend myself. If that meant hitting her, then it would be justified.
