Excellent point.... people today would not give modern writings the same authenticity as those written 2500 years ago.

This is baffling, since modern authors are probably more educated, travelled, and otherwise informed than the guys from 2500 years ago.

There is no mention in the Bible that new scriptures should not be written. I challenge anybody who says so to prove me wrong. Heck, I'll make a yahoo question of it, hehe.

The holy Quran is different. It was not written by scholars, but it is the true original word of the one and only God. It is perfectly preserved in scientific measures, authentic and evidence-based. It is always fresh and good for all people, every where at any time. This is why Islam is the final comprehensive, universal religion for humans before the last day.

scriptures are constantly being written. Scientology is only 30 years old or something, and written by LRonHubbard in the 1950s-1970s. Pagans are writing stuff right now.

Ancient knowledge is also valued to some extent. But modern writings are necessary to deal with modern problems that don't fit the ancient myths, metaphors and parables.

Within the Bible, we have an injunction that prohibits the adding or taking away of what is contained in it. There are no new inspired teachings today that should be included as why would God wait 2,000 years to do so. That is what the Mormons and JWs have done, and they are no longer classified as Christians anymore because of it.

When it comes to the Bible, there is a verse that says "let no man take or add to this book" paraphrasing of course. But we take a look at what man has done, and we see that there are misinterpretations of many words. With the verse...Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live....witch is actually poisoner...not one who heals...that's were we got the Burning Times....Also many leave out the Apocrypha, or the hidden books, because they felt that it wasn't appropriate. I'm not saying to add, but put back what was left out.

Revelation chapter 22 v 18 says If anyone adds anything to what is written hear, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words of this prophetic book, God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

The Bible says that the scriptures cannot be added to or taken away from. To add to them is to add something to God that is not there, and to take away from him is to take away something that is essential to his nature. God's word is true and it is truth. It is timeless and should never be tampered with. The liberals and the cultists love to tamper with God's word in order to prove a point or justify a means. They are in danger of hellfire if they do not repent. Just because we live in the "modern age" is no excuse to tamper with God----he is just fine like he is. Accept God for who he is and do not try to make him over into your own image. You will live long and prosper by accepting his truth.

most of those scriptures command that nothing more should be added, so no

they recorded those events for a reason, so people would know about them. what better reason for people a long time ago to spread their beliefs? if you witnessed something amazing you would want to tell someone else, but there will always be people who dont believe you

The Bible should remain the same with no additions or subtractions. By doing any of this is by inviting something bad to happen to them by God. Only God knows of the punishments of those who add on or subtract to His Holy Words.

God is the same yesterday, the same today and the same tomorrow. So is His words.

Some people like to twist the words around to mean what they want them to mean in their lives. This is wrong and God will punish those who disobey Him and His laws and words.
