You did just make a stereotypical comment that excludes lots of nice Baptist people. However, after having lived many years in a tiny little baptist town, I can relate to the following joke:
1. Jews don't recognize the existence of Jesus as the Messiah,
2. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the head of the Church, and
3. Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store.
And I was a heathen for not wanting to go to every potluck dinner/social/prayer group/organizational meeting held 15 times a day!

I’m Baptist, so I feel I have a right to tell this joke…
St. Peter met some new arrivals at the Pearly Gates. The first thing he did was take them on a tour of Heaven. As they went through different areas, St, Peter would say “this is the Catholic section, this is the Evangelical section, this is the Methodist section…” By and by they came to a high wall. St. Peter said “ When we go by this wall, please don’t make any noise.” The group, led by St. Peter, tiptoed quickly along.
When they reached the next open area, a man asked him why they’d had to be so quiet. “Well,” said St. Peter, “that was the Baptist section, and they think they’re the only ones here!”
We’re not all like that. AND we can laugh at ourselves! The only thing any Christian should be, is like Jesus.

People are people are people are people.
God wants all of us to come to know him.
John 3:16 "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
He doesn't care who you are.
Rom 2:11 There is no favoritism with God.
His desire is that we would help each other in these difficult times.
Luke 10:36 "Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?"
Luke 10:37 "The one who showed mercy to him," he said. Then Jesus told him, "Go and do the same."
I don't know why you think that "Baptists" are more judgmental than anyone else, but trust in God, not Baptists, and let Him lead you to peace.

I hadn't noticed that Baptists were more judgemental than any other religious group. I have noticed that there seem to be more Baptist (and Southern Baptist) churches around than all the other denominations.

It's not fair to generalize all Baptists. You certainly have not visited enough to determine how the rest of them are. With that said, any specialized focus group (e.g. religious sect, club, school, etc.) can only exist at the exclusion of those outside it.
Besides that, religions are developed on the basis of placing one's belief system higher than other people. All theists do this, not just Baptists.

yooperpooper's answer gave me a chuckle, but there is a serious answer to this. It isn't just Baptists. It applies to members of many religions and sects. To belong to a religious faith and believe in its correctness provides a sense of validation which many people need. Scientists such as myself, on the other hand, delight in being proved wrong! That way, we can abandon an incorrect theory and come with something that works better.

Each different sect of the Christian cult behaves this way. I too was once a Baptist, and I observed the same thing, regardless of which sect I was attending service with.

Your question is a sweeping statement. I know many baptist people who are not this way.
The only person we need to be better than, is the person we were yesterday!

When people believe that they possess the only and final truth, they become very judgmental of other people and groups whom they judge by their own standards. Unfortunately, this is not what the New Testament teaches and is a very divisive position.
According to the Bible, only God can judge us. Our duty is to spread the "good news" of Jesus Christ. When we judge, we take on God's job and neglect our own.
When these people get to Heaven, they're going to be very surprised when they see so many other groups up there.
