It can take a while, but Australia is at the moment on a recruitment drive ... they are short on anything from plumbers to carpenters ... at the moment, it is relatively easy to get a work permit which leads to permanent status in Australia, so I would suggest you just sit back and wait, or contact the Australian immigration authorities if you think you've been waiting for too long ... Australia isnt letting any Immigrants into the country,the last time Immigrants were in Australia the Aussie's kicked the living s**t out of them.
