I used to drink 2 pots a day...but when I decided to quit smoking almost 2 years ago, I almost HAD to give up coffee too, because the 2 went together and it became a real trigger for me wanting to smoke.

I am down to about 2 cups a day and I feel so much better. I never realized the HUGE coffee addiction I had until I stopped drinking so much. I agree with the other's answers...it is difficult for the first 2 weeks...after that, you'll find you have MORE energy than you ever had before. Good Luck!

You become more relaxed and have improved sleep patterns. I know how it feels. I used to do shift work and coffee was the only thing, along with cans of coke, keeping me alert.

Have a cup now and then, but don't drink too much. I don't know if this is true, but someone told me you need to drink two glasses of water for every cup of coffee you have. This only applies if you're constantly guzzling the stuff.

What are you drinking now?

The critics of Coffee generally concentrate on the caffeine in it. You may be surprised to learn that there is more caffeine in tea than there is in coffee, far more in coke and other fizzy drinks and much more in cocoa!

Recent research suggests that coffee helps to break up fee radicals and helps prevent cancers and premature ageing.

Many of the alternatives to coffee have high levels of sugar, sulphates and other chemicals. Have you jumped out of the frying pan into the fire?

Good for you! Most of the time we experience horrible headaches the first few days without the caffiene. You might expect not to urinate so much as caffiene will irritate your bladder. But you know, coffee is actually good for you in moderation.

After a while without coffee you should feel less tension. Neck pain? It should ease up with out the caffeine.
