What a great idea! It's a shame that we have so many divisions. If only all Christians could come together as one. Perhaps actions like this will promote future harmony and bring us back together.

Well we invite other churches but not as a community service. We just invite whoever will. But in my opinion, if only 3 or 1 show up God is still there and that is what He has ordained at that time in life.

We have a 5th Sunday singing. Every 5 Sundays the churches get together during the night service and each church sends one or two people to sing specials. The Church who hosts rotates each time.

I'm not a Christian; and, therefore don't belong to a church; but, Baha'i communities all over the world have introductory meetings to which everyone is welcome.
Also, we initiate and take part in everything interfaith, as far as possible.
We are to associate with the followers of all religions (and no religion) in a spirit of love and amity.

yeah, that's usually the way it works. Usually only a handful of churches are interested in only working together, I wonder what the others are afraid of?
My parents' church (Presbyterian) has an interfaith Thanksgiving service with a local Catholic Church, a mosque and a synagogue. I think it's extremely cool.

Too bad that the other seven churches don't show up. It is a great idea to have a community service - let people get to know a bit more about the other denominations.

The possiblities are endless on why the other churches don't join. They might be doing something else, don't approve of the music, don't approve of the message, don't have time, etc.... Our community has community service also and my church does not join. Does not like the politics involved!@

YES WE HAVE THOSE AND YES NOT ALL CHURCHS COME I HAVE FOUND BEING A PREACHER THAT EVEN THOUGH CHURCH BELIEVE IN THE SAME THINGS YOU DO THEY WON'T COME AND MOST OF THE TIME IT IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THEIR PEOPLE GOING TO OTHER CHURCHS BECAUSE THEY MAY FIND THAT YOUR CHURCH AS MORE OF A FREE SPIRIT AND THAT GOD MOVES MORE FREELY IN YOUR CHURCH AND IT COULD CAUSE THIER PEOPLE TO LEAVE HIS CHURCH AND JOIN YOURS.IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE BUT WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT GOD IS THE SAME EVERYWHERE AND GETTING TO GETHER IS BETTER THEN BEING APART THERE ARE POWER IN NUMBERS AND SOME OF THE BEST CHURCH SERVICES I HAVE EVER BEEN IN IS WHEN CHURCHS COME TOGETHER.

I live in Britain, where the churches are actively banding together, because we all have so few members. You can look on the CYTUN website to see how it is working in Wales. I think we will be more effective as Christians if we work together in Christ.

I'm a protestant with strong beliefs but I don't believe in or go to church, and the one I used to occasionally visit didn't do such things as it was a church for christians in general, no particular sects.
