Christians United for Israel

What Is It And Why Should I Join?

What is Christians United For Israel? (CUFI)
Christians United for Israel (CUFI) is a national association through which every pro-Israel church, para-church organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel regarding biblical issues.
In February 2006, more than 400 Christian leaders met in San Antonio with Pastor John Hagee at Cornerstone Church to establish CUFI.
Our Sense of Urgency
Recently a terrorist bomber killed eight Israelis and injured 49 in Tel Aviv. Iran's President has continued threats to destroy Israel, saying, "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."
Across America, millions of Christians pray for Israel and her people and want to stand with them during these difficult days. As important as our prayers are, it is also important to let our voices be heard.
What I Would Like You To Do Now!
1.) If you share my passion for Israel and the Jewish people and my belief that Israel is America's first line of defense in the war on terror, then I invite and ask you to join me as a member of CUFI. As a member of CUFI, you will receive the following:
Weekly updates on CUFI's work and developments that impact Israel.
Periodic email or fax alerts requesting you to contact your elected officials on issues critical to Israel's security and well-being.
Invitations to CUFI's Washington summit on July 18-19 and annual Night to Honor Israel celebrations in your region.
To join CUFI simply go to http://www.cufi.org and click on Rapid Response Membership.
2.) If at all possible, please come to Washington to be a voice and a part of our first CUFI gathering and rally in July—we would be greatly blessed to have you there!

Why should you join CUFI?
Join CUFI so you may help bless Israel.
Join CUFI so that you can help tear down the walls of anti-semitism
Join CUFI so that beyond your prayers for Israel and the Jews, you can take an active part in influencing our government to allow Israel to govern themselves.
For more information go to www.cufi.org or call 210-477-4714.

CUFI's Goals
Short-Term Goals
Rapid Response Communication:
To develop a national Rapid Response email and fax communication to CUFI members in every state and congressional district for the imperative purpose of responding immediately with broad national support in defense of Israel on biblically-based issues. For more information, please visit: http://www.cufi.org/newsletter_signup.aspx
For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.
(Isa. 62:1)
Christians United for Israel Washington/Israel Summit:
Come to Washington to gather and unite with members of Christians United for Israel on July 18-19 of 2006 in our nation's capitol for the purpose of introducing the association to senators and congressmen, expressing our concerns for Israel's security, and our support of Israel's right to the land by biblical mandate. http://www.cufi.org/WASummitReg.aspx
The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from when you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."
(Gen. 13:14-15)
Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
(Ezek. 3:17)
Long-Term Goals
National Night to Honor Israel:
To conduct a Night to Honor Israel in as many cities in America, Canada and the nations of the world as possible.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
(Gen. 12:3)
They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.
(Rom. 15:27)
To continue increasing our support of Israel and the Jewish people around the world through the education of the Christian Community concerning the Jewish contribution to Christianity and Israel's biblical mandate to the land through Bible teachings and pilgrimages to Israel.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
(Prov. 9:9)
Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; he will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
(Isa. 2:3; Micah 4:2)

Every country has the right to defend themselves. The only problem is that now Israel it's not defending itself. It's attacking a country and killing innocent civilians...Israel it's the aggressor here and the international community should ask them to stop the attacks...It's punishing a whole people for what a few did. It's not fair what it's going on there and if somebody should be sanctioned this is Israel...

Sure, every sovereign nation has a right to defend itself. But Israel hasn't quite acted like saints in the past either, and have long time been aggressors against Muslims. And their "military action" is lashing out and hurting more than just the perpetrators. It's too complicated to just simplify by saying their justified in this matter when it really comes down to a long history of fighting.

Funny when I look for israel on a map made prior to 1948 all I can find is palistine. Seems like Palistine would have had the right to exist also would it not?
How would you feel about it if someone told some third party that they could have you home.
What if they came and threw you and you family into the street and took your home by force.
Would you be a thug for trying to get back what was yours?
Study history a bit. Don't be so sure that what you are being told is really the truth. Be careful when someone trys to convince you that they are the good guys and someone else is bad. The truth is nearly always found somewhere near the middle.
Love and blessings dear friend.

Hmm... Did the people of Palestine have the right to defend themselves when Western powers created the state of Israel on the land where they were living?
Imagine you're relaxing at home one night and someone knocks on your door and says that their ancestors used to live here thousands of years ago and that you no longer have the right stay... This is what happened to the Palestinians!
The creation of Israel has meant continued war and death - when it's initial intentions were to help Jews after the horrors they faced under Hitler!
Yes, people should have the right to defend themselves! All people! And for once - the Western powers should stay out of it! We've messed things up enough already.

Both sides feel the same way. You say muslim thugs. They say Israeli thugs. Both sides are in the wrong (and the right, because both HAVE suffered at the hands of the others) If they don't all start getting honest about their own part in the disastrous situation, and realize that mutual destruction will come about if they don't., then there's no hope for them. Think how magical a campaign of mutual appreciation would be for them!!!

Every living creature has a right to defend itself. However, Israel is "THE" biggest problem-maker in the world today. It would be a giant step toward world peace if Israel were to disappear under a mushroom cloud.

Because the reason they are "surrounded" is Zionists, with the aid of the UN, took over Ottoman Palestine. They could have located to Africa or South America but used political power to occupy the land of others. They continue to do so by illegally settling on land that is not theirs. As long as Nutzinyahoo continues to be a rogue, criminal leader Israel will be criticized, and rightly so. If they become civilized, we can talk.

As a matter of fact, any country or individual should have the right to defend it's self against anything.
As a person who hates violence, what's happening these days in the middle east, is totally unwanted. There is no need for war.

Yes it does. Everybody has the right to defend themselves. I just feel bad for the innocent Lebanese people. Those cowardly Hezbollah terrorists don't have the guts to come out and fight like brave warriors should. They hide among the civilian Lebanese population who are afraid of them because they are heavily armed.

Absolutely!
Now, get ready because you're going to get a bunch of replies from people who hate Israel and I guarantee you that they won't ever acknowledge the crimes of the Palestinians or any other terrorists, but will instead make reference to Israel killing "innocent children" They always do this......
