i told her okay get some rest and call me when u wake up. i decided to go out and get her something to cheer her up. i brought it to her house and she was very excited. anyway today she asked me to by some weed for her and i told her no because we agreed to cleanse our bodies. (me on a diet and her on a diet and stop smoking weed) so she got upset and said u spend money too frivilously(hope thats how u spell it) and part of that was buyin her those gifts. Basically sayin that the money i spent on her gifts could have been spent on her weed.(by the way she claims she is addicted to weed as she smokes it every other day, twice a day)

First, when people are depressed, naps should be encouraged. You can be peacefully depressed (naps), or violently depressed (suicide). Always encourage the peace.

Second, anyone with depression should NOT be smoking dope. Beating depression means regularly adding healthy actions in your life that pick up your emotions. Smoking dope makes you content, and in some ways "happy" with doing nothing. When they high wears off, you are left with "nothing", and the depression continues.

Your friend needs to understand that simple recipe.

All her words about money are irrelevant - just a smokescreen.

Grass rarely mixes will with anything - but it is just about the worst thing for a depressed person.

Good luck with her.

Leave her! shes going to bring you down with her!! you've already tried being nice and putting her own needs before yours, and she didn't appreciate it! Let her deal with her own problems, your just her security blanket!
I think of it this way...with all that money spent on drugs- do you know how many shirts you could have bought!???

Okay, tell her that you aren't going to be her drug supplier and that the two of you made a promise together and need to stick to it. Talk with her about getting help for her addiction.
