Yes, I did. I even taught them to do so, I would join them. There is a freedom and joy in playing in the rain that isn't equaled anywhere else.

ABSOLUTELY! Kids love to play in the rain! I can still remember playing in the rain when I was a kid and how much fun it was!( occasionally I will go outside with my 3 girls, they love it and secretly so do I! LOL)

As long as it is a warm summer day and there is no lightning, I say go for it!

Absolutely. They love it. Whenever it rains they take buckets outside and fill them up with rain water and completely drench one another. And my boys are 11 and 9 years old. My stepson came to visit last summer and we had a really good rain one day. The boys ran outside and my stepson looked at me like, what? I told him, go for it. Have fun! He still talks about how much fun that was!

Of course, these are summer days when it's warm outside. I wouldn't let them play in the rain during the winter months.

My kids would rather play in the mud puddles AFTER the rain. I'm the only person I know who will deck their kids out in old clothes and muddy boots to spend an hour in the mud, only to spend the next hour soaking the dried mud back off.

I'm glad there are more of 'us' out there, who let there kids do more than watch tv!

Absolutely! As long as it's not thundering and lightning also. I used to do this as a kid and later my own kids did it. One time a neighbor came running at and yelled, "Oh my God, she's going to catch her death in cold!" For heaven's sake, it was 90 something degrees out at the time. Don't let people with their old wive's tales effect your good judgment. Enjoy the rain.

Nope! Not going to happen. I wasn't allowed to, my kids won't do it either. It is not healthy to do. Your chances of getting sick goes up. The only time I allow my kids to be in the rain is when we are walking to or from the car. That is it. If it is raining ( thankgoodness we live in CA. It doesn't rain much in the summer) they will stay indoors.

oh ya. It's good for them. It's something fun that i would think we have all done as kids ourselves. I sometimes run out in the rain with my son because the water will be cold and to get him to do something i have to show him its o.k. It's fun to let loose and have fun as an adult sometimes.

I did once during a sun shower (is that the name for rain during the day in the summer?) but then I heard thunder and I made her stop in case of lightning.

ABSOLUTELY YES, this was one of my most memorable moments was when mother let us play in the rain when we were children, I will never forget them days. Rain never ever hurt anyone neither does dirt, Just give em some soap and let them suds up while they are in it.
