I have noticed computers having "Designed for XP" logo but they usually have windows 2000 pro installed.

Mostly because it would be too much money and time to co pletely upgrade the systems. Also, w2000 is a more basic form of xp-it only has the necessities.

Many businesses have stuck with Windows 2000 Professional because the switch to XP Pro would be very costly, and the added benefit would not be worth it. A network, in order to switch to another operating system, has to pay Microsoft some pretty heavy licensing fees. Most businesses have decided that since Win2 works so well, why switch. They are right. XP will soon be the old kid on the block. Another new slicker OS is coming soon from Microsoft. And so it goes. You can be sure there will be a newer, slicker one after that, and another after that. So you stick with what you have until a newer OS with a compelling benefit (that you can't live without), makes the switch worth it, if the budget can afford it.

Yes... they use it because its having a good security for networks...

Thats the reason the use it ... according to what i heard....
