I saw some "Dateline" or "20/20" about this one. You, know of course, you can die the first time from something ridiculous like dehydration. Long term, they showed some cat scans of a normal brain and hard core ecstacy users. The users had areas of the brain that appeared inactive/damaged and eventually they get Parkinson's Disease type symptoms. I don't know if this was propaganda. I have some friends who used to do X and they seem okay, generally. Too much depends on the user. Also, if you get a bad batch of ecstasy, one that has a different chemical structure, it can mess you up big time...like put you in a coma, that sort of thing.

Personally, getting drugs mixed in an underground lab seems like a gamble. I mean, you take a look at the meth labs out here and it seems crazy that anyone would want to take stuff made out of drain cleaner and whatever in a bucket behind a trailer park.

Proceed with caution. Think long term, becuase it will be later before you know it.

The problem with asking this question is you are just going to get a whole load of arm chair experts most of which have no real idea what there talking about just repeating the things they have heard in the media and from the anti drugs movement. I then won't claim to be an expert except I will say this. It is obvious that it is not good for you, it's has a huge effect on your body and brain and it is going to lead to things like depression if you abuse it, same as any drug especially alchol. On the flip side Ecstasy kill's far less people a year than playing sport does and no one suggests banning that, and if you compare it to car fatalities then it pales into insignificance. My advice, don't take it, failing that, party while your young but not to often and stop when your still quite young, say 25 or so... but thats just my opinion..

It punches tiny holes in the brain. Any loss of brain tissue has got to be bad.
Psychologically, it's addicting. Like LSD it allows the id to rule the personality. Since the id is irrational and irresponsible, letting it take over your personality is a really bad idea. Most such people have a very hard time coping with the adult tasks of life, such as holding a job, caring for loved ones (especially children) in a responsible manner, and so on.
On the positive side, there is some recent research that shows that Ecstasy is very useful for people in the terminal stages of lethal diseases. It helps them to lose their fear of dying and even helps with pain. But it doesn't benefit people to abuse it.

well of course addiction is one risk-factor. But also.... alot of people that have taken X for years are very depressed unless they are on it because it affects the part of your brain that makes you feel happy feelings. They are unable to be happy without it. Very scary. I would say even once is too much because no one means to become an addict. But I would definitely say that if you use even a couple of times a month you are taking a big risk!!!

Brain damage and possible death. Any amount of illegal drugs is too much. Every time you use it, you are killing brain cells.
