I wouldn't take him to the vet right away. Geez, I wonder if these people who say that really take their pets to the vet as often as they tell everyone else. Keep an eye on your puppy. A little swelling is normal, and expected. But if it gets worse, instead of better over a couple hours, and as long as his throat doesn't swell up, he should be fine. If it would make you feel better, take him to the vet. try keep a cold compress on the spot where he got stung. Also, keep in mind where he got stung. Be your own judge.

i hope that the persons submitting any information pertaining to allergies, or allergic reactions, haven't scared you. being deathly allergic to bee venom myself, here is some truthful information. with the exception of some other bees, every living animal on the face of the earth is allergic to bees. the fact that bee venom is cumulative in the body means that it never leaves. a small toddler stepping on a bee in the backyard has the following symptoms; pain from the sting, swelling, and a little later comes the itching. with the exception of the pain, the other symptoms are allergic reactions. the more stings that the child gets, the more severe the reaction becomes, because, remember that bee venom never leaves the body. some humans, and animal are more sensitive to this venom, and may develop severe reactions sooner than if they are not as sensitive. any living animal that receives a tremendous amount of this venom in a short period of time will probably become deathly allergic. in my case, i was stung over 75 times at once when i was 8 years old. your dog will be fine. if the sting is in the mouth, you may have to assist in giving it water, but all will be fine. thanks for loving your baby so much, nancy

Unless an animal is allergic to bees, the sting should do nothing more than annoy them and make them itch, like people.

If he didn't immediately go into some sort of respiratory distress, chances are he'll be fine. But call your vet just to ease your mind.

I'm not a vet, but I have had animals all my life. If it were me, I wouldn't worry if I hadn't noticed symptoms already. But I'd probably call the vet just in case.

Yes,you can give benadryl. It will help with the swelling and itching. Get the tablets, they are 25 mg, break it in thirds (as close as you can get it-they also have liquid) and give it to him. I would give him another dose later today per the instructions on the box. He should be fine.
If he's having any shortness of breath, get him to the vet, if it's just swelling, this should work.
Do not put anything topical on it, it will only draw his attention to that spot & make him want to lick it off.

~~unless your dog is allergic to bee stings he should be fine, but if he shows any symptoms of being extra lethargic, or shows trouble breathing get him to the vet imediately. as far as helping with the pain from the stinger, mix a little spit and tobacco and put that on the sting site.~~

take him to the vet if he starts to have swelling. The swelling will start around his nose first. If the swelling reaches his neck and he can't breathe he will die. But if he doesn't start to swell around his snout ( this could take several hours to do.) then he is not allergic to bees and there is no problem.

The best advice anyone can give you is to contact your vet. Also make sure his breathing is ok, in case he may be allergic. Good Luck. Amy

Your dog will be fine.(If he/she doesn't have an allergic reaction). My advice is to put vaseline or something on it . If your dog is allergic I recommend taking your pet to the vet to see if they can prescribe something for the dogs allergic reaction.
