NO...no arthritis or osteoporosis. New science proves that cracking the knuckles releases the pressure in the little bursa sacks between the joints and might keep you from having stiff joints later in life. Crack away!

A lot of people say that you can. My mom used to crack her knuckles so often as a kid. Now her hands at the joints cramp up and stuff pretty often, but she doesn't have arthiritis. My dad is a doctor and he says that, though it is commonly said, there is almost no proof.
Just putting this out there, the same thing goes for sunburns leading to skin cancer. There is a harmless form of skin cancer that you are more likely to get if you get sun burned, but the one that everyone is afraid of, scientists have been trying to pin on sunburns for years and still have no proof.

no you cant the actual "cracking" is just the air being popped from between the knuckles.

nope.

the cracking sound is due to air bubbles in the fluid in between the joints.

you get arthritis only if you wear out the cartilages in between the joints

na, i crack my knuckles and so does my sister. We went to a doctor and he said it was just tiny air bubbles in our bones, it wasnt actually the bons clicking or the bones rubbing.
