I think that tipping a taxi drivers is like tipping the wait service at a restaurant. They get paid a wage, so technically you don't have to give them a tip for them to make a living BUT if their service is good, and in some cases "above and beyond the call of duty", then I'd tip them according to how much I have and how much I feel that they deserve. Not always fair that the person with the money is deciding, I know--I've been there, but if you want or need the money...you service would be better, right? I hope that this answers your question. Best wishes and take care.

It is the polite thing to do. Most of the fare that a taxi driver receives goes to the taxi company and for fuel. In this day and age of expensive living these hard working people need an extra hand in order to make a decent living. I thank God that we have taxi drivers. I would hate to try to get from the airport to my destination in a strange town on my own efforts. I have found that a lot of these driver are very spiritual people and do show a great deal of regard for their passengers. It is nice to be nice to other people and to share what you have with them. What little you give them you will not miss anyway. Jesus loves you.

If you ever want another cab to come and get you, you do. Be sure to know the route to where you are going - so those not-so-honest drivers don't 'take you for a ride' :D

Tipping anyone is not required but it is a nice thing to do if you're happy with the service you get.

just like any other service, yes. i personally follow this rule of thumb: great service, great tip; bad service, no tip.

I wouldn't if I were you. They already charge alot, and chances are, they will never see you again once they get their "owed" money when you leave the car.
