beckyschristine when was being a great person's fan a sin? No where in the Bible does it say that. Now if you be addicted to drinking it's a sin not drinking it Jesus drank wine but he went to Heaven see!!!! He wasn't addicted! Now if I wanted to be Tupac I would be Ja Rule. But then again I don't like Ja Rule. Also you spelled Tupac's name wrong it's either Tupac or 2Pac next time make sure you don't have a typo when your talking to me.

Abusing alcohol is a sin. Drinking it for personal enjoyment is not.
Alcohol is considered a "drug" and like any other drug, people who abuse it can become dependent on it. That's why AA is so important. This organization helps alcoholics who are dependent on alcohol and other substances with counseling, group support and referrals to agencies that can help further.

Addiction to anything like alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, etc., affects the brain. Certain people and personality types are prone to it.

Alcoholism is hereditary. This disease is passed on to other generation. Social behavior and family lifestyles also contribute to alcohol and substance abuse.

since when is being addicted to something become a sin lol, and why are all the AA meetings held in churchs.
the bible holds many things done in excess(which is defined liberally) a sin and trust me ur doing atleast 1 or more of them. so in the end 9 out of 10 people who consider themselves religious and preach to u are usually breaking 1 or more rules in the bible and need to shut up. cause while theres a difference between killing somebody and say stealing office supplies, or lying, getting drunk would be 1 of the lower sins of the bible so if u commit some of them u cant criticize someone else for them. even through i dont think getting drunk is 1 at all

Alcohol is not a sin - did not Christ turn water in wine?

Some consider drinking to excess a sin - as can be anything done to excess. Alcoholism is a sickness and why people become addicted to anything is a mystery. Sometimes it has to do with a chemical imbalance. Sometimes people are just weak.

You sound religious which is nice - but have an open heart and be compassionate to those who are weak.

Well, some people believe that when we were cursed with a curse, that curse followed the family. Therefore, there are some of us who are precurisory to alcohol and other addictive drugs, etc. The lack of will power and sound mind prevents us from "seeing" the dangers of these things to our bodies. Then, addition is also a stronghold - satan once again finding the worse in us and using that to exercise his job - kill, steal and destroy. That's what he is about and when he finds that weakness, he will set us up and we often fall into the wrong places, wrong people, and circumstances that keep us bound until we desire to be SET FREE! Until we know Jesus as our complete freedom and that we don't have to be addicted to anything, any stronghold - then we will continue to die daily with addictive strongholds.

Who said drinking alcohol is a sin? The Bible is filled with references to drinking wine. What do you suppose Jesus was drinking at the Last Supper?

The best beer in the World is made by Trappist monks in Belgium. According to the Bible, Jesus himself turned water into wine.

I think you meant that Gluttony is a sin.
It has nothing to do with alcohol.

Who cares what the bible says?? It is a COLLECTION of work, written down after GENERATIONS of story telling, with each story teller down the generation adding his OWN TWIST to it, then HAND SELECTED by WORLD LEADERS, leaving UNAPPROVED INFORMATION OUT, translated into other languages again adding the EDITORS POINTS OF VIEW, and preached to people by CHILD MOLESTERS that the churches have been protecting for MILLENIA!

Tell the Catholic Church we want to read the other stories from that time period and get the whole truth! NO MORE BURNING OF DEAD SEA SCROLLS THAT DO NOT FIT YOUR BELIEFS!

Because "sin" is a load of old cobblers invented by frustrated men who like going round telling people what they should and should not enjoy.

I'm only on this planet once and I'm not going to listen to some uptight fool tell me what I should and should not do.

If religious people went round saying "have fun and be nice to people" instead of "don't do this, don't do that" then people might actually listen.
