I thought you guys believe that you are supposed to pray to "God" for things and sometimes he says yes, sometimes no and other times maybe.

If a starving Ethiopian prays for food and "God" says no, then who are we to go behind his back and give it to them?

Most of God's yes' come through the hands of other people. IT is the concept of fellowship and community.

The starving person prays and God answers by laying it on the heart of a person wiht excess to give.

Good question; a Christian looks at I John 3:22-24, as well as other places in the bible and know prayer to God works. We also look at Matthew 6:25-34 for further answers to this question.

You see, it is not that when God does not answer a question that something can not be done, that is not what is taught. Going and helping could just be the great opportunity to help these people and teach them God's word.

How do you know what God's answer was; what would make you believe God said no to one praying for food? When you follow the Great Command to love others as you love yourself and take care of your fellow man, that is following the Christ's example and command - not going behind God's back. Keep asking questions ... I hope you find Truth. God bless you. ~Nisa

Your question really hit's home. I remember news stories, about food being sent, and warlords stealing it. Then they killed the Christians...people accept that, as God's will...
