Maybe it's because some of the question posters are seriously simple. I mean really, have you ever heard more stupid questions than some that you read here? Here we are on the World Wide Web and people are asking questions that they would get an answer to a lot quicker if they wold just do a search. And the "What should I do" questions make me want to puke. Haven't you ever heard the old addage, "Ask a stupid question - get a stupid answer."?
And further more, who gives a crap about two points? It's not like you can redeem them for cash or anything.

People are rude because to them it's probably just another 2 points! And they are not looking to help, they are selfish. Answering things about a person's health or other serious issues like marriage or love with "I don't know" or "You cannot spell" is sort of like going up to an obviously starving, malnourished, hungry child who needs Food and saying"to go find a Rock" or "I'm sorry I can't help you"
I, too try to be tactful, if I know I can't I don't say much, however, some of my answers are a bit too-detailed or long-winded and I go back to edit them and the are closed (LOL!), if you check out my answers, even to the Racist person who asked about Country music and then referred to another race of persons negatively, I did not get rude, I felt sorry for him, because I saw how sad it was that he did not know about how expanded Country Music is. Now, if I Cannot find the good, I don't bother to respond or if I start responding and find it was a mistake to do so, I delete it.

I hear you. I always see at least one rude answer per question. All I can say is that rude people are everywhere, but you just have to ignore them and only listen to people who are going to give you intelligent and positive feedback, ignore the creeps. I try not to post rude responses, even if the questions themselves are pretty rude. I know it is frustrating but like everything else, you have to put up with some annoying people pretty much everywhere you go. Just know that there are people out there (like me) who always try to give the best possible feedback and will not be rude to you.

Not to be rude, thou I think that prejudice is the answer, many peoples feel threaten by any question, that can be of the concern of the outside World of U.S., The bad part of all of this I think is the condition that to my knowledge show that prejudice begins with the conditions of inferiority, Ignorance have allow so many to become and accept as the true, been only aware of the materialistic values we can all extract from matter's and from the substances of matter'. Whit-out the need to basically step in some one else conditions of Life and their Life-existences.

Sometimes people just misunderstand questions, I guess. I asked a question recently that is quite complex, but many people misunderstood what I was going for, and so I have received a lot of answers that aren't helpful, including one that's rather condescending. I guess the lesson to take from that is to read the detail carefully.

i agree but i dont think it has any bearing on their "upbringing" some (accually alot nowadays) of parents try their bes t to bring up their children with respect but youve seen the maury shows and the news and everything else. they can try all they want some kids dont learn. it is society. so yes it is very rude for ppl to been mean to you and others about serious things. but you know whats even worse? when a best answer to a serious ? is a joke. common ppl!
have a nice day!!!!

Some people think there is nothing more funny that to show how witty and urbane they are with some flippant and unrequested remark to a question that the asker is serious about.
I saw one question where the woman was asking what causes impotence and one answer was "The bag coming off of your head". How compassionate.

I am so glad you brought that up. And thank you for that statement.
I guess they have nothing else to do or have a chip on their shoulders, not even to mention their cowardice.
It is so easy to be rude when you are hiding behind a screen, not to mention that some people are really hurt by what they think is a great sense of humor
My advice ? Ignore them.

Well, if someone's rude when answering a simple and serious question, then he or she must be venting his or her frustrations off on you, honeychile. It's the mark of of somone with inadequacies and inferiority to try and pose as agrssive.
Obviously, such types didn't have good parents like yours to guide them properly.
Like you rightly said, if they don't like the question, they needn't answer it!
Good for you for always being nice when you answer a question, honeychile! Way to go.
Don't let these bad guys upset you and continue to be nice!
Cheers

I think some people answer in a rude way because they need to boost their own egos in order to make them feel better. Others are bullies, who are rude because they can only feel good about themselves by upsetting other people. Finally there are people out there who are just ******* for the sake of it. Ignore them all.
