Jehovah's Witnesses don't go from door-to-door to argue. They are there to present the bible's view and allow each householder to decide for himself.

(Matthew 10:14) [Jesus said] Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

(Matthew 28:19) Go therefore and make disciples

(Luke 10:1-17) [Jesus said] Beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest…he that disregards you disregards me too

Incidentally, the questioner's "ammonite fossils" do not 'show evolution'.

Like others have said evolution is just a theory and has not been proved. I'm not a Jehovah's witness but from experience people usually give up discussions when they don't know what to say. Oh and for the record saying no to Jehovah's witnesses is not saying no to Jesus. Saying no to Christianity is saying no to Jesus.

I have a friend who's a witness, and we've had pretty much this conversation - his argument was that the bible only says that god created man - it doesn't say when, or what happened before (well, it says that god created all living things, etc - but that could mean that he created all that, then thousands of years later, plopped man on the earth).

So, there is the possibility of both.

And to the guy who said "it's still just a theory," you need to brush up on science in general. Gravity is a theory. Every scientific principle is a theory - it doesn't mean it's not true.
"a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations that is predictive" - Wikipedia entry on the word "Theory"
Not to harp, or anything - it just bugs the crap out of me when creationists don't understand what the word theory means, in a scientific context.

Because we know we have the truth of God's word.
And 2Tim 2:23 admonishes that we "further, turn down foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing they produce fights."
We are not out to win arguments. We are obeying Jesus' command found at Mat.28:19,20 where he tells his disciples to "go there forth and make disciples of people of all the nations....teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you...."
Our only aim is to seek out those searching for Bible truths. It's funny how if people see a painting, they naturally assume there was a painter,or they see a house that had been built and assume there must have been a builder. But they see the marvels of life and the order of the universe and the laws that govern it and yet assume that it all happened by chance!

fossils just show that something died and its bones are still here
that doesnt prove evolution, otherwise evolution would be a fact. it is still a theory

They do the same thing if you show them that dinos and dragons are in the Bible.
