spanish, because it's practical that a large number of the people in the world (2nd or 3rd?) speak the language. On a lighter note, for interest's sake I would like to learn Chinese or Russian or some Middle East country language (Arabic?) because they are quite unique in writing (non-alphabets) but also difficult.

Sign Language and Spanish...

Because, it would break down the two largest communication barriers we have in our country...

Sign Language ~ How terrible to not be able to communicate with your own language, so much so, that you become "your own society" amidst your society...
It broke mt heart when I heard a story of a PA state political leader state that "sign language isn't considered a language".

Spanish ~ So barriers can be broken and then perhaps they could understand our laws, and obey them, and then be able to "settle in" and become great neighbors...

I'm going to learn Spanish. I live in Texas and there are a lot of people here that only speak Spanish. On top of that I'm in the health care field and I need to communicate effectively with my patients.

I would learn the Yahoo language, so I could understand the various dialects, grammatical formations, and spelling used on here, which thus far have been very difficult to translate.

Sign Language because the deaf and mute are so often forgotten in our society. It also pays more on a job with these skills verses other languages. Deaf people are people too, and they deserve to be heard.
