Yep, like JD(though I think it is called sour mash and not Bourbon) and then there are some wonderful malt whiskey from the Isles with a great "peatty" taste.

Irish Bushmills Whiskey - oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. But I'm biased cos im Irish. Ive never actually liked any other whiskey that I have ever tasted. Bush has a nice smooth taste. All others are too strong for me.

I like Laphroaig, a very peaty, smokey single malt. It takes some getting used to though.
